“I cannot recommend Dr Madalina and her dental clinic highly enough. She is an outstanding professional who genuinely cares for her patients and approaches every treatment as a true work of art. The clinic itself is beautiful, modern, and welcoming, with staff who are not only friendly but also exceptionally well trained.

I have personally used a range of services here, from extractions and fillings to retainers, and each time I have been impressed by the precision and attention to detail with which Dr Madalina supervises and carries out the procedures. It is rare to find such a combination of skill, artistry, and genuine care.

If you are looking for a dentist who will put you at ease while providing the very highest standard of treatment, I wholeheartedly recommend Dr Madalina and her clinic.”

Excellent team who knows their job and will go extra miles to makes sure you that you understand every bit of your problem is solved. Very good customer service.Good communication skill. Spending enough time and not rushing to see other customers. My X-ray was put on the CD for me to take along and to show it to the a team at the general hospital. Will recommend friends, colleagues and family

A fantastic dental clinic – highly recommended for both kids and adults! The reception staff are always welcoming and helpful, making the whole experience smooth from start to finish. I was treated by Dr. Madalina Ignat, who was incredibly patient, explained every step of the process, and delivered brilliant results. As a bonus, the clinic also has a spa centre inside – I haven’t tried it yet, but it’s definitely on my list!

I had an excellent experience at this dental clinic. The dentist is incredibly skilled, professional, and truly one of the best in the field. From start to finish, the service was fast, smooth, and of the highest quality.

What impressed me the most was how efficiently everything was done without compromising care or attention to detail. The staff were friendly, and the clinic was clean and modern. I felt comfortable and well taken care of throughout my visit.

If you're looking for a dentist who combines expert care with quick, top-quality service, I highly recommend this clinic. Definitely one of the best dentists around!

D. Madalina and her dental nurse Andrea have been great. Knowing that my biggest fears is to go to the dentist they managed to make my visit pleasant. They are a brilliant team and I'll happily comeback.

What you get for your £50

Everything that is in the £50, and why it matters

A full 45 minutes that are genuinely yours

Most people's experience of a check-up is being in and out before they have finished sitting down. This is not that. Forty-five minutes is enough time to actually say what has been bothering you, ask the questions you have been rehearsing in the car park, and get answers you understand.

Two small X-rays, included

Half of what goes on in a mouth cannot be seen by looking at it. Two digital X-rays show us what is happening between and beneath your teeth, so you find out where you really stand rather than where you look like you stand. They are included in the £50.

A dentist who has seen it all and judges none of it

If it has been two years or twelve, we are not interested in why. We see every kind of mouth in here and every kind of story behind it. Nobody at Emicare is going to make you feel small for the state of your teeth. That is a promise, not a marketing line.

Why bother when nothing hurts?

Here is the uncomfortable truth about teeth. By the time something hurts, the cheap version of the fix has usually gone.

Decay caught at a check-up is often a small filling. The same decay left for another eighteen months can be a root canal or a crown. Gum disease gives almost no warning at all in its early stages, which is precisely why it is the leading cause of adult tooth loss in the UK.

A check-up is not really about the teeth you have got. It is about the teeth you would like to still have in twenty years.

And there is the other bit, the part nobody puts in a brochure. Walking around with a mouth you are quietly worried about is exhausting. Half-smiling in photographs. Chewing on one side. Putting off the appointment for so long that the putting-off becomes its own problem. Forty-five minutes with us usually ends that, and the relief is the thing patients mention most on the way out.

How your visit works

Your first visit at Emicare, start to finish

No surprises. Here is exactly what happens between walking in and walking out.

Receptionist smiling and talking to a visitor at a dental clinic front desk with a potted orchid and dental logo on the wall.
STEP ONE

We talk first

Before anything goes near your mouth, we sit and listen. Your history, your worries, what you want from your teeth, and anything you would rather we knew before we start.

Dentist wearing magnifying loupes and navy scrubs working on a patient’s teeth while an assistant holds dental tools.
STEP TWO

We look properly

Teeth, gums, bite, jaw joints and the soft tissues of your mouth, checked carefully rather than quickly.

Dental panoramic X-ray displayed on a Dell computer monitor with visible teeth and jaw structure.
STEP THREE

We take your two X-rays

Digital, fast, and on the screen in front of you within seconds so you can see what we are seeing.

STEP FOUR

We explain it clearly

Not dental. You will hear what is healthy, what needs an eye kept on it, and what needs sorting, in words you can repeat to someone else at home.

If the dentist makes you anxious

Somewhere between a quarter and a half of British adults feel real dread about a dental appointment, so if that is you, you are in unremarkable company.

We built the practice around that. There is a separate relaxation room with a massage chair, because recovering in the corner of a waiting room in front of strangers helps nobody. The rooms are big and calm rather than clinical and cramped. You can raise a hand at any point and we stop, no explanation needed.

For patients whose anxiety goes deeper than nerves, we offer IV sedation with our clinical team. It is not needed for a check-up, but knowing the option exists for whatever comes next is often the thing that gets people through the door in the first place.

Tell us when you book. It changes how we look after you.

Why do patients choose us?

Why patients from Potters Bar choose Emicare

We speak eight languages between us

English, Romanian, Turkish, Slovak, Italian, Persian, Portuguese and Spanish. Tell us your preferred language when you book and we will make sure someone who speaks it is with you, so you can ask real questions about your own mouth without bringing someone along to translate.

A full digital practice, not a partially digital one

3D scanning, CBCT imaging, laser, and our own digital lab on site. It is the same technology people travel into central London and pay central London prices for. We just happen to be on Darkes Lane.

Finalists at the Dental Awards and the Private Dentistry Awards every single year since we opened in 2022

Four years, four years of nominations. We are quietly pleased about that one.

We fit emergencies in the same day

Registered patients who wake up in trouble get seen that day. It is one of the main reasons people move their family here.

We are genuinely easy to get to

Five minutes' walk from Potters Bar station, on the main road, with the entire practice on the ground floor. Step-free entrance, accessible seating and accessible toilets. Early morning, evening and Saturday appointments for people whose lives do not pause between nine and five.

What you pay, and when

£50 for your new patient check-up, including both X-rays. The usual price is £65.

You pay £30 when you book online, which secures your appointment, and the remaining £20 at the practice on the day. That is the whole cost of the visit. There is nothing else to pay for a check-up, and nothing gets added without you agreeing to it first.

If your check-up shows you need treatment, you will get the costs in writing before you decide anything.

What a new patient check-up actually is

A new patient check-up is the appointment where a dentist builds a complete picture of your mouth for the first time.

It covers your dental and medical history, a full examination of your teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, an oral cancer screening, and two X-rays to show what is happening below the surface. Your dentist then talks you through what they found, flags anything that needs attention now, anything worth watching, and how often you should be coming back.

It is longer and more thorough than a routine check-up because everything is new. We are not comparing you to last time. We are establishing where you are starting from, which is what makes everything after it easier.

Need more clarity?

New patient check-up frequently asked questions in Potters Bar

What exactly do I get for £50?

A 45-minute new patient appointment with a dentist, a full examination of your teeth, gums, bite and soft tissues, two digital X-rays, and a written plan to take home. The usual price for this appointment is £65.

Is a clean or hygiene appointment included?

No. This offer covers the examination and your two X-rays. If your dentist thinks you would benefit from seeing our hygienist, they will tell you on the day and hygiene appointments are booked separately.

It has been years since I have seen a dentist. Am I going to get a lecture?

No. Long gaps are one of the most common things we see and there is nothing you can tell us that we have not heard before. We are interested in what happens from here, not in why it did not happen sooner.

What if the X-rays find something?

Then you will have found it at the stage where it is still small and straightforward, which is the entire point. You will get a written plan with the costs, and time to think. Nothing is booked on the day unless you want it booked.

Can I see a dentist who speaks my language?

Very likely. Our team speaks English, Romanian, Turkish, Slovak, Italian, Persian, Portuguese and Spanish. Not every language is available every day, so mention your preferred language when you book and we will arrange for someone who speaks it to be there.

When does the offer end?

Wednesday 30th September. After that the new patient check-up returns to its usual price.

Where are you and how do I get to you?

109-111 Darkes Lane, Potters Bar, EN6 1BW. Five minutes' walk from Potters Bar station, on the main road, ground floor throughout with step-free access.

45 minutes now, or a bigger appointment later

Your teeth are not going to sort themselves out, and the version of this appointment you have in your head is almost certainly worse than the real thing.

£50 until Wednesday 30th September. Two X-rays included. A dentist who will not rush you and will not judge you.
